SYNOPSIS
«Dollar» is the nickname of a famous bank robber. «The Black Virgin» is a wood polychromed carving. Dollar and The Black Virgin is the story of their meeting, a thriller that begins in Africa and ends in Europe, because she comes from Kailahun (Sierra Leone) and he is from Malaga (Spain). Halfway through both the distance and the story there is a thirty million dollars booty.
The police authorities know that Dollar is going to commit an spectacular robbery and know where but neither when not how he will do it. The plot pays tribute to percussion and brass black music, with a rhythm that transcend its merely visual aspects. It is also a sharp critique of the atavistic fetishist rituals of some religious minorities of Sierra Leone... and Spain. But first of all it is an entertaining plot in which both humor and love prevail. |
